shark fishing in hervey bay

just wondering what is good for shark bait in hervey bay and if anyone knows any good spots thanks :D

G'day mate!

Saw some guys on the end of Urangan pier when i first came to Oz, 7 years ago.

They had rods as thick as broom handles with rollers throughout. The reels were the size of small buckets and ran about 800m of 2-300lb mono with some towing cable as leader. Hook sizes were about 20/0.

Bait seemed to be a whole fish (didn't recognise what type at the time) and the guys fished after dark.

Didn't see any sharks caught but they talked the talk and some locals said they walked the walk.
