Stiff throttle shift

Guys,
Having problems with the forward/reverse shift throttle on boat. Not being familiar with the workings i have only sprayed some innox on the linkages at the throttle/control end. The reverse direction seems to be much more harder to move than the forward direction??? It is a Tohatsu shift throttle control. I have not looked at the outboard end.
Any help would be appreciated.

In front of the throttle console (opposite side to the key) there may be an adjustment screw if similiar to Yamaha
