View Full Version : Even more SP off the Beach

After reading Stonecolds post about SP off the beach I thought I would give it a go. So the last 2 mornings I spent half an hour flicking my bass gear into the local surf gutter where I am currently staying.

Using a 1/4 ounce jig head with a Slider on I was greatly surprised and delighted to have landed 2 nice bream which are my first bream on soft plastics.
Look forward to what the new cold spell and westerlies bring tomorrow morning.

well done on ya first bream on sp. them sliders are pritty good hay, the smallers ones are dinomite in the tight creeks,they work much better than the atomic ones in the same size, the tails beat at a slower speed than the atomics. top stuf dude

Nic, motor oil and catalpa. Hit it at 6.45 this morning for 1.5 hours but no fish. 3 hits and one good hookup that I lost. Fishing in front of Salt lifesaver tower at kingscliff.

Sounds like fun mate!

Those bass might get a rest now for a while, eh??
Haven't been there myself for ages but got a call from Mitch so he could rub it in that I was at work!

Wyldfisher, Penn Pinpoint tournament 662SPX 3-5 kg. Great value for money rod.They can be often picked up for around $79. Have caught a wide variety of good size fish on it.

They are decent for the price i have pritty much the same combo as you but with a exceller plus 1500 as a back up combo ;D
