Hi Guys
heard some talk that the inside of old woman island is a no fish zone ?
any truth to this or are ppl just trying to shy me away from a good fishing spot?

Didnt know that, only place I knew that you couldn't go is the HMAS Brisbane area .

Yes, i would assume you would need an epirb, as i do have one in my 4.35 tinny, but i am not familiar with the rules on distance off land etc.
Have you done much fishing there??????

Jerson: you dont need an epirb to fish old woman. you must have an epirb if you are more than 2Mile or klm offshore (sorry not sure witch one it is) but i is safer to have one no matter where you are fishing!! have heard reports of some nice snapps being take round there at the moment to

They are required (in Qld) when you are operating more than 2 nautical miles offshore (off land) and/or beyond partially smooth waters.

Stingau,Old woman island is just offshore from maroochydore area on sunshone coast, your best option would be to launch at mooloolaba and virtually head north from the seaway entrance,Old woman island will be right in front of you.
Cheers Craig
