Hi guys
On Sunday I'm heading up to Redcliffe, & have never fished the area.
Any good land-based spots that you can help me out with?
Don't mind what I'm catching, as they all get released anyway.
Thanks

Scott's point, the old hornibrook bridge, Sheild's street rocks, the jetty(now it is not as good, because of being over fished)if you decide to go early morning they're catching school mackeral off the jetty. All along Scarborough beach, Margate beach they usually catch a few nice sized whiting, also try hayes inlet at low tide just cast some SP's in the channels and you should pick up a few nice size flathead. And also queens beach rocks. That is probably the best shore based fishing spots around here, I haven't fished them for years now because I've got a kayak and now fish for snapper about 1km out, tell me how you go.
Have a look at this link.

No chance of a mackerel at this time of year. Best bet would be tailor at dawn or dusk from the various rocks like Scott's Point if the low tide coincides, or bream after dark over some of the rocky areas. If there's a big tide at night then here's a 'secret spot X'. Go onto the Hornibrook Highway, Clontarf end and fish across the high tide near the start of the bridge. Everyone else will walk out to the channel but if you fish right on top of the rocks (within the first three wooden posts from the start of the bridge) you will do much better. Use a VERY light sinker and wait for the fish to lift the bait off the rocks or you'll snag up every time.

I was just reading from what it said in the QLD fishing monthly reports. The link is here http://reports.fishingmonthly.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=2847 it is last weeks report. Here is the extract from it
"An odd school mackerel is still being caught from the Redcliffe Jetty by anglers suspending pillies below a float. The early morning rising tide seems to be the best time to be trying. This is a good spot to take the kids for a fish over the school holidays as it is easily accessible and has plenty of shops nearby for when they get hungry or bored."
