Been feeling a bit lazy and haven't fished much for a few weeks - too easy to stay in a warm bed instead of hooking the boat up and going out before dawn. But this afternoon the weather was fine, the winds were light so I grabbed a surf rod, a shoulder bag and a few pillies and headed down to Scott's Point for a bit of exercise. Fished from about 3.00 p.m. until the rising tide pushed me off the rocks just after 5.00. Picked up half a dozen choppers, best went 42cm, mostly just on sunset. Was a nice little session - might have another shot tomorrow.

IRMCOOO - there was no sign of them due to a small chop. No sign of any fleeing baitfish either although there were plenty of hardiheads and the odd pike visible close to the rocks. You just had to keep casting and retrieving, working the pillie at different speeds and hoping for a hit.

Tailorboi99 - no obvious schools just the odd fish from time to time

Gidday Freeedom,
I sat on that bloody rock from about 2:30 to 6 yesterday arvo flinging out pillies. Not a touch. (In fact the only action was those b****d birds tryingh to fly off with my unweighted pillies!!)
Bait was n't even touched, not so much as a nibble!!
Went from unweighted to slowly adding split shot and fishing various depths... still no joy.
There were some nice bream being taken off the rocks to the left of the small beach- a local reckons you dig up some local sandworm and the bream are takin numbers and queueing up.
Nice one,
jimbo

Know how you feel Jimbo - it can be like that. I had another go on Friday afternoon but could only manage three small choppers for about two and a half hours casting. My arms were dropping off by the time I finished.
