Mad,

What rigs are you using?

Do you use a sounder?

I'll make a gilt edged suggestion; contact Bill Corten, do his Reef Fishing Course. His ad's in Bush 'n' Beach Magazine. I did it, and he got me started after near a year of similar frustration.

He will teach you rigs, baits, tactics, sounders, give you a mark or 2, and take you fishing in such a way that you'll win. Best $400 ish I EVER spent.

With the frustrations you are experiencing, I cannot stress highly enough how smart you would be to do this!

Cheers,

Tim

Tim,

Mate i do have a sounder, yet don't seem to be able to hit the spot, the rigs i use are from patternose - running sinker on a 7/0 hook with a whole pilly to using a leader. I have used squid and pillys and had no joy, i have fished mast head up north and destroyed it yet i do not have any luck at all off the bay.

I might have to give your mate a go after this trip, thanks for your advice mate, it is apperciated, maybe i might give tempest or somewhere like that a hit.

Should i drift, anchor or throw a bucket. lol

Cheers.

Mate I haven't used the anchor for ages.

Have a look on the web for some generic marks. Look for shows around them, drift a couple of times, and if you don't hook up, go to the next one. Move around a lot. 29's and 35's are a real good place to start IMO.

Take some mullet too, and don't use too much weight on the slider. Enough to have your bait drifting down at 45 degrees.

I'm no expert, but that stuff's starting to work for me. And you MUST do Bill's course. MUST!!! (I don't get commission, either ;D;D;D)

Good luck and tight lines!

Tim
