Couple of more camo spits I've done recently....
The good wife and darling sweetheart picked the colours on the pink one and the orange one...
The pink one I put thread over the decal and coated it without CP...
(The dirty marks on the back of the lounge chair is from....ummm.... the cat!!...honest I always shower before I sit on the lounge..honest I do... bloody big cat it is too....)
Appreciate all your thoughts and suggestions on how I can improve the rods...and also how I can get the dirty marks out of the lounge :-X
cheers, Robbie

I want to know how you have the time to do all these, I am still trying to finish my pick rod and I have started the Matiga split grip and I now have the blank and guides for the wooden handle Mark made me. But I still can't seem to make time to do these. Might have to get Owen to do the cooking and cleaning.

Nice work and where did you say you got the split grips from I tried to find some.

Nice work all round Robbie. I think the rods look great as they are. Some of the decals around now are stunningly well done.

Thanks Mark and Sandy....
Sandy...I got the grips from Rodworks....when they first become available... still have a couple of sets if you get stuck...just let me know....We both know that poor poor Owen is overworked as it is..... but good luck with that anyway...ha ha ha...
Mark.... I agree about the decals.... still finding some better than others...some seem a little to....stark?... or look like a sticker.... IMHO I think they look better under thread... or atleast placed so they don't overpower the thread work or guides etc.... What I'm trying to say is that they become part of the artwork... and are not neccessarily the focus of the artwork... getting them to blend with the other artwork... I've seen some work (I think) Doc Ski is doing with Decals under tiger wraps...I reckon it looks sensational.....
mind you tho...If I had the talent / patience / fortitude / sufficent beer to tackle some of the weaves I've seen done.... I might be persuaded to have a crack at a weave.... for now tho... I'm a "dress up a decal" type bloke....besides if I need a weave done.... I know some handy people.... who live close enough for me to hand deliver the rod......I'd probably be put to work tho....cooking...cleaning....eh Sandy??....
