1 piece into 2 piece

G'day all
this topic has probably been covered numerous times but I have to ask.

I have a 10kg / 7foot spin rod that I was thinking of converting into 2 piece so that it travels easier. If I were to do this would there be any major disadvantages to the rods performance, and is it easy or hard?, bearing in mind that I am an absoulute beginner.

Dave, in my honest opinion, don't waste your time. It isn't worth the time or the hassle. Go out and buy a 2 piece that suits your purpose. If you really want to do something, I'd get a good 2 piece blank and build that up. To make your fibreglass rod into a 2 piece would involve fitting ferrules and WILL affect the performance of the rod. Too much hassle for what its worth.

I have turned a few 1 piece rods in to two piece.

unfortunately

* it was not a planned conversion
* they were not even pieces.
