hi all
im in need of advice. i fish scarby once a week trying to find these snapper. i use 6 to 16 pound braid and leader a mix of sp and range of jigheads regulaly catch large bream up to 45cm few good flaties and cod aswell but i just can find the snapper even finding the bream alot slower compaired to last time this yearany advice is welcome cheers

Im no expert, but I think you should downsize your leader. I was using 12lb but just changed to 10lb.
forget it.....if you weigh up the amount of snapper caught to the amount of people who fish the reef the odds are not good...even when you do see snapper caught here they are few and far between and usaually when there is no boats on the reef...u would have more of a chance picking up snapper(which we have) on the smaller reefs to the south...there is no way a reef the size of scarby can sustain the amount of boat traffic it recieves the only way to improve this would be to shut this important breeding ground down for a couple of years to re-coop...

yeah mate,
i fished scarby for years, caught good fish there like yourself, only every 1 legal squire! recently started fishing other areas of redcliffe and i'm catching them alot more, heading out saturday ;-)
