Hi,

Just wondering given the situation. If you only had one lure, of any type, to fish for bream. What would it be?

Its a little cliche ::) ,,,,, but for a hard body it would be a SX40 without a doubt.

On the soft plastic front ...... The Atomic Prong has been the go to plastic of late:P

A Bennet McGrath Baby Attack in Coachdog Red colour. It's yet to be outfished by me even with SX40's.

Second go to bream lure is a Baby Merlin in Fishskin colour.

3rd is a SX40.

Soft plastic go to is a Ecogear PadTue in a drab green colour.

Jack.

If i could only have 1 lure it would be a TT switch blade in silver minnow. The reason being these lures are so versitile. Fish them deep, crank them over flatsor drop them around the pontoons or boats they catch fish everywhere.

Other than that-
Plastic = 2in shrimp in natural or molting
HB = Deep chubby Ghost Wakasagi
Top water = Tiemco red pepper baby or pink grub

Cheers Whytey

i dont have one because as soon as i have a turn to lure, i bloody loose it to a fish or a rock. it's tricky picking just only one lure to use 4 bream as thay change there mood like a chick dose there clothes, its constant so i chage tacktick to suit the conditions. 4 surface i love towadi's but iv been trying to use bigger lures to tempt bigger bream so id have to say my favoret top water is ither a megabass dog x jr or a lucky craft sammy 65 or there nw pencil when i can keep them away from other fish that like to take them from me. as for a hb, iv nailed more bream on sx40's than any other lure i have owned, thay are pritty hard to beat. and as for plastics it's a gulp shrimp all the way, thay are just too good

lucky craft bevyshad 60mm in ghost minnow.casts well in the wind and long distance on the flats and can be made to float sink or suspend with a hook change.the size gives you some protection from flathead and pike teeth and the hook combo will hold bruiser bream and small jacks.slow roll or twitch it does the lot.probably the best allround prospecting lure for multiple species and situations i have used and i have used a few.

Gee based on my results over the past 6 weeks ....... My new go to is definitely the 75mm Squidgy Pro Lobby (Wasabi)..... fished on a 1 gram fine wire jig head ....... Its produced results in both numbers & size on every outing! ...... Its got to a point where it becomes difficult to choose something else:P

HB- Megabass Baby Griffon - far and away the best hb ever invented for bream...tight arses will snicker at the $32 price tag but it catches breambos consistent.

SP- 2" Gulp shrimp in new penny & squidgy bloodworm wriggler (smothered in S-Factor)

Gagga08
24-07-2008, 04:58 PM
SP - Definatelly have to agree with Kevvie - Squidgy Bloodworm Wriggler, with s-factor of course

HP - A little tricker...I'm a massive fan of the new Ecogear VX 35's range. Catching a heap on those atm. But for that tried and tested lure that gets results time and time again I can't go past the grand champion SX 40's, colour 307. (And no..i don't work for Ecogear!)

kevvie
25-07-2008, 01:20 PM
Mate there a number of gr8 griffon colours..

If i could have only 3 they would be;

Murky water- Cuba Libre (black)
Tannin Water- Kinkuro (gold)
Clear Water- Chartreuse/Clear (dunno the jap name)

Awesome little lures and can land em here at times for 15-20bux on ebay.
