Whats it worth and other than Ausfish where is the best place to advertise?
Just doing some number crunching, my wife and I are selling up and moving and the extra cash will free up some money.
Its a 2007 Quintrex Freedom Sport with a 75 HP 4 Stroke Mercury, 120hrs and full service history.
The boat is as new, all the goodies. Bimini, clears and full storm cover
Lowrance sounder, Navman GPS, VHF, CD player, 55lbs Minn Kota, all safety gear etc etc
Telwater Trailer, all 1 year old.
Positive feedback welcomed
Mods please delete post if I have crossed the line, I am simply doing the sums!

Hey Captain,

It's always tuff determining a market value Vs what's it truly worth.

One suggestion to assist is compare with what's currently new on the market as well as similar vessel's on; ebay, trading post and Boatpoint.

For reference, here is a new 2008 490 with a Yamaha 80 (4 Str) $36K;

http://www.broadwaterboating.com.au/boat_specials/365_Quintrex_490_Freedom_Sport.php

I was in the Springwood Marine yard on Saturday and don't recall a 490 in their yard to offer that as a camparison.

Were Freedom Sport fans, we have the 2007 460 with a Yamaha 60 (4 Str), having proved the concept of boating for our family, were hooked so looking to move up into the 560 range.

I hope in your next move you can get back into one.

Good luck.

Regards,

Rob

I suggest it's worth more than what you might be offered. I recently sold my Cruisecraft with 26 hours on it. Prices offered by the local Cruisecraft dealer were embarrasing to say the least.

At a guess you normally lose about 5-10 when you drive it out from the shop, less another 10% for usage in the first 12 months. So my estimate after 12 months ownership is around 75-80% of the new price that you paid for it.

Boats! great to buy, but difficult to sell for reasonable money.

Best of luck

Steve

What did you pay for it?
I bought a late 2002 475 , with a 60 HP 4 Stroke Merc, paid about $25 K back then, I guess this would be the current version of what I bought new, it would be interesting to know how the new prices have moved over the last 5 years or so.

120 Hours seems a lot after a year, or maybe I am a bit slack , ony got about 230 on mine after nearly 6 years.

Leighton,
Try advertising it on boatpoint. One price until sold.

Good luck with the sale.

I try and use it 2-3 times a week, new models with a 4 Strokes are around the 36k, plus extras

I use mine more like 2 times a month.
I suppose mine was more like $27 on the water, paid extra for a 4 stroke and spare wheel.
It would have been almost another 2 grand to go from a 60 to a 75, the non white hulls were also an extra $800 or so.
It looks in top nick, I am going to have a guess and say you should get about $30 for it privately, I am not sure the middle of winter is the best time to sell them though.
I look at it this way, if I could buy a new one for 36 or yours for 30 which one would I get?
If it was only a couple of grand difference you would go for the new one but 6 grand saving for near new, makes you start to think...

its all happening, probably will get rid of the boat Marc. Cant see me going without a boat for to long. Thinking just a small tinnie to work some creeks and a little further on glassy days.
Yep house is on the market, tossing up between the Sunny Coast, Kawana, Alex that sort of area or Palm Beach, Tally Creek area on the Goldie

Well a bit of a sea change hey, im hoping to make it up the coast one day, but wont be for a while yet as my business is in Brissy.

If ya sell the boat before ya move and your keen to go for a fish, let me know. You can show show me all your bay secrets :)

Goodluck with the sale.
