Hi all.

My old man owns a 4.3m boat with an old 96 50hp yamaha 2 stroke. I've finally convinced him to upgrade it to a 4 stroke electric start, as he's pushing 60y old now and starting one manually isn't doing his shoulder any good.

anyhow, Im interested to know how will the bolt holes line up? my old man, being like old people are, is very paranoid about holes in the back of his boat.

I've never had the privilege to upgrade an outboard before and im interested to know how do bolt holes line up from 1 motor to the next? are they a standardized stud pattern or is every brand different?

and can anyone tell me the cheapest suzuki dealer in brisbane atm?;D I'd like to help my old man save his hard earnt cash.

thanks..

Unfortunately the Yamaha 50hp is the same block as the 60, and for some reason myself and old man included aren't keen on buying de-rated engines. The new honda BF50 looks the goods. Unlike the Yamaha The suzuki 50 is the same block as the 40.
