View Full Version : SeaMonkey Browser
I have been using firefox & Thunderbird for years without problem, love it.. last week after updating my AVG to latest version it all became very slow, reminded me of that crap IE.. Decided to give SeaMonkey, another Mozilla product, a run. It is all in one browser & email etc. looks a bit different, but so far its working great, moves like lightning compared to the others. Here is link for any interested http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ would be interested in any info/issues from others that have tried it.. cheers

The new AVG 8 has a new component called Link Scanner in it. This is something new and what it does is scan every link you are opening and slows it right down. It's a pain in the proverbial.
For those who don't want to run a new Browser as indicated by DR you can disable the Link Scanner though and your Browsers will run as normal.
i actually sent an enquirey to the AVG help people, a week ago ,as yet they haven't bothered to reply.... I know it is an issue with some versions of windows, but read that XP was ok with it. will go & disable..
