After working my head off finally got to head out for a fish on mothers day with fellow Ausfish member Chubby ( whom i purchased my new boat off)
HIt the water round 0530 and headed off north of wavebreak in search of some tailor and jewies. Started blindly ( sounder no work ) flicking gillies slugs out and after about 15 casts the rod became real heavy bent over and i was onto my first tailor on a lure. She went bout 38cm and the tail was waggin thinkin i was gonig to be onto a big school of em. Chubby chucked out a few whole pillies which got some chews but no hook ups whilst i continued to flick the slugs. All went quiet so we moved on and picked up a couple of just legal lizards, a squire, bream and a grinner. Kept one of the Lizards and soon after got a HUUUGE one to the boat but she rolled over onto her back and spat the plastic :'(

Went got some worms and headed up towards youngies whiting country but all was quiet so decided to head in around 1300.
All in all Most of the fish were picked up with SP's in Bone and glow colours with Chubby landing the squire and bream on Squid an fresh prawns. MOst of the fish were quite small but it seemd tho the lizards and tailor are starting to come on so shouldn't be long till we see more consistent bigger fish landed.

peace

Hi Dave
Sounds like you had a good safe trip with a couple of nice fish to go with it and some fun in the water
