The weather had been too good lately, so I had to have a go for another red fish during the week. The tides were spot on for an afternoon session, so hopes were high. Started at the top of the creek and drifted out chucking prawnstars and plastics at any snags. After a couple of hours without a touch, the beers at home were looking very inviting! One more cast at an old favourite and bang. The fish was in top condition and fought like a demon amongst some very nasty country. It measured in at 51cm and ate the red prawn. The big question is "when are they gonna stop?" Hopefully never if they keep busting 50cm! Water temp just reached 22 degrees today. Cheers. Keith...

Nut-Get little fellas chucking plastics but the creeks up here get a lot colder than 17 mate. I've seen em at 12 degs. Not ven the bream bite round here when it gets like that.

I find that jacks do not usually stop completely and have had some awesome days in biting westerly winds bringing half a dozen into the boat.

Change techniques and presentations in winter works well.

Geez Keith, a lot of people ask about your camera. Isn't it a point and shoot thingy?
Nice fish by the way. Are you still using 20 lb braid and 50 lb leader or have you stepped up?

Didley-Olympus 5MP. I've had it for years and it's nothing flash. I'd hate to think how many pics it's taken. Keep telling myself I should upgrade but while it's still working I'll keep using it.
Nugg-Had one today champion!
Tim-Don't often need to go any stronger than that mate, unless I find the special snags. (Cheese Graters!)
Gecko-Might be time to drag out the flatty gear gecko. Theres always jew mate. I nailed a couple of rats this morning deep jigging gulp shrimps for bream.
