Went to the creek for the labour day long weekend. Surprised at the amount of tailor there. I fished right next to the swimming area on the western side of the Gold Coast Highway Bridge using those 9 gram metal slugs. I ended up with 4 35cm trevally, 2 40cm tailor and a 25cm Bream. I thought that was pretty good because it was the first time I had tried using the metal slugs and all the fish caught were legal sized.

I used the maniac slugs in any coulour because they immitate a wounded baitfish and I was on the shore casting parrallel to the swimming area. All the fish feed on the billions of baitfish you can see around the net. I used a fast retreive with pauses for the tailor and a medium retreive with jerks of the rod tip for trevally.
