View Full Version : Why did my thread get deleted ?

A few weeks ago i started a thread with a poll included named, Where do you buy your fishing tackle? I posted it in the general section, and it soon got moved to the tackle section. No probs with that.

The thread and poll was going well, with over 1400 views, 150 odd votes and a few pages of replies. I found it very intersting finding out where everyone bought there tackle and why, and using that info to influence where I would shop.

It appears the thread has been deleted, cause I cant find it anywhere. If there was a conflict of interest from advertisers on the site, and companies listed in the thread, I can sort of understand, but the thread ran for a couple weeks with no probs and was even moved at one stage, suggesting the mods had no problem with it at that stage.

It would have been nice to recieve a pm from the mods with an explanation.

Hmmm, I just saw a post from Mod5, in the 'is there too many polls' thread, saying he was closing polls after they had run for a while.

Ah well, I was more interested in peoples replies rather the the actual poll, and thought it was relevent info for most members and could influence peoples decisions on where to shop. Not like polls such as 'do you eat fish' I guess I should have made it a normal thread and not a poll. next time i'll know better.

I was closing old polls not deleting them.

Yours seems to have vanished. I can't find it anywhere.

You can start a poll about anything as long as it's appropriate to the Ausfish Rules and placed in the proper section on the boards.

When you start a poll you can set how long you want it to run for. If you don't set a time they will generally get closed after about six to eight weeks.
