Gday Ausfishos,
im relatively new to braid and just had a few questions i thot maybe i can get some help with.
From my understanding braid shud be used on aluminium spools and not graphite spools. But the way i see it, whats the difference if the first thing you shud do when using braid it to put on mono backing to stop it from slipping under pressure. ive read reviews of people using it on graphite spools such as the shimano tss4 spinning reel and others as well with no problems.
With rod selection, is it essential to use graphite? Cos ive checked out the graphite range of rods such as the berkley drop shot, ian miller t-curves etc. in the 2-4kg bracket and they all seem to be around 6.5 -7ft and very whippy. what im saying is that they don't seem to be any different from the fibreglass rods that i wana use for my soft plastics on bream and flatties.
And finally, ive read and heard from many sources that braid is not good for trolling due to the zero stretch factor. How true is that statement coz recently, i saw a clip on youtube where braid was used for trolling with lots of success on tuna well over 10kg. if you wana check it out, enter adventure bound WA and i hope u enjoy it just as i did.
Any help from anyone is greatly apprec.
Just wana say a quick hello to ninja, bullshark, scalem if ur out dere ;D
