I think the weather gods must have it in for me. Just got back from a week at Iluka - a week of rain, strong winds and big seas. It didn't stop me fishing (although it stopped a lot of others!) but it did limit the number of places I was able to fish and prevented me from some night sessions I had planned targeting jew in particular. Still who would miss standing in pouring rain and winds that hit 40 knots at times trying to feel whats happening at the end of your line which has a massive bow in it even though I'm using a number 6 ball sinker to try to get a bait to the bottom against the wind? The breaming was pretty good, the luderick a bit quiet and the tailor non-existent. There was the odd flathead about and I did see a guy catch a longtail off the wall on a large soft plastic late on Tuesday afternoon - I estimated it to be about 13kg. The best day, weather wise, was today, when I packed up and came home. Next time!!!

Bad luck about the weather Freeeedom, although you did get some nice fish.

The weather didn't seem to bother old mate ryansrods, he reckons he pulled 6 or so jew again this week. No photos of course. The man's a legend!;)

Cheers.

Actually Adam, Ryan's jewfishing prowess gets regularly mentioned by Dick Richards in his syndicated weekly fishing report from Yamba.
Glad to see you were able to make the best of the weather, Freedom.
Sure are some nice feeds of bream there!
Cheers.

Yes Ssab1 - the bream were taken from the main northern breakwater. The odd luderick was caught at the Iluka Bluff in the washes and all I caught from the beach in Shark Bay were a few small tarwhine

G'day mate,

Nice fish. How far out along the wall were you where you got the bream? My mate's going there next Saturday for a week. He'll be doing the usual stuff, the wall, the Bluff, Frasers, Shark bay and also up the river to Browns etc.

What was your bait of choice?

Many thanks,

TOL

The first gutter on the beach side has been firing lately TOL. Trevs, bream, tailor, soapies and flatties have all been making an appearance.
