Honestly mate I have landed Snaps from just about every corner of Peel. If leaving from Clev the first spot of Peel you will hit is The Spit Beacon, start there and follow the Reef in a clock wise direction remembering the exclusion zones. Fish the drop offs with either Plastics or Bait.
There are plenty of Rat Snapper but the bigger fish do hang with the Rats, so dont loose interest if you land plenty of small fish.
Also, if you are being harassed by Moses perch and Pike you are probably fishing to Shallow.
If plastics use a 1/8th Jig with a 3-5" Plastic. 5" Camo Gulps work well, if bait then fresh Mullet Fillets os Squid.
Like most of the Bay islands..find the bait and you will find the fish. No promises of getting a feed, Peel is fished hard and if the weather is good Sunday you wont be alone.

you do have to be careful when getting close to peel from cleveland though, the reef can be as shallow as 2 ft and as far out as 100 metres from peel all the way from sth west rocks to the northern reach and if you dont slow down well before the island you can hit the bottom.
if youve never been there before slow down to 6knts about 400 mtrs out, you will see why.
dont fish in horseshoe bay because you will get nothing but stingrays, it looks like a good spot but you will be let down

Hey breambuster33,
As stated, you can get your bag limit of squire just about anywhere. Good luck to you I hope you do well.
Just curious.....how big is your rig??? Be mindful of the weather, it can get really lumpy in that area between cleveland point and peel. I would suggest that you spend a lot of daylight hours exploring the island. Get a feel of how the reef areas work and the depths of water around them, familiarise yourself with the terrain so to speak.
If the weather looks a little dodgy spend a little time around cleveland point itself....there are a lot of dips and gulleys in the reef there that I have caught some stonkers from over the years. Be safe and have a great trip

Fish the ledges. If you're sounding head to reefs, when it rises sharply, back off and anchor up. If using plastics drift along the edges. Like Watta said gets a bit lumpy in the paddock.
Cheers 8-)

Peel island can be a strange place to fish, there can be plenty of fish there but not on the chew. I find it doesnt really fire until june if you try to fish it earlier you will find it only good around the new moon.
Well thats my opinion anyway ha ha. Feel free to tell me other wise, like many do but I rearly find good fish there early than june.
I do have beter results around green earlier in the year.
