I'm going to get the 585 Furuno, and I want to use a 1Kw, through hull, dual freq transducer. Anyone out there done this? What model transducer unit did you use, and are you happy?
Thanks, John.

The B164 (bronze) comes in 12 & 20 deg offset to suit your deadrise. The zero degree offset units are not in production yet. Nor is the SS164 which is stainless. I am waiting for the SS 164 in zero degree offset but am using a 600W for now. Picking up bottom perfectly up to around 24 knots with trace echoes & depth up to 33 knots.

Check the Airmar site for more info.

Good pic Peter i was thinking of mounting a transducer there myself on my platey. Do you get any motor interferance?
Can you post a pic of the weld underneath? my guess is that it would have to be perfect.

I've taken delivery of my new boat last week and had a Airmar B164-20-10F fitted during the build. I haven't water tested it yet but beleive the performance should be top notch.

Garry/Ninja, where did you buy your Airmar T/D's, Oz or o/seas?
A few months away from needing my new electronics, just doing all the research on the 585!
cheers
