thanks tunatiser, It would be a great job in calm weather but thats pretty crazy. those pilot boats must have geat hull for some of the weather they face.

That is exceptional boat handling and trust between the pilot and the skipper.
Did that guage really show a roll of 20 degrees?

20 degrees roll is actually not uncommon with ships in heavy seas

most mast's are made to snap at 25 degrees, id rather be on the pilot than the tanker. the roll on a larger ship is much worse. imo
