I recently bought some gear, inclusing a Bennett NMEA2000 interface kit from X & X in the states. On arrival one of the trim tab sensors had broken away from the ram mount with no evidence of damage in transit. On closer inspection it appeared that adhesive was used a bit sparingly during assembly. I immediately contacted the seller about the problem and they said they would see what they could do. They also managed to send me the incorrect radio. A follow up email a few days later wasnt replied to. Over a week later, still no reply so I emailed them again and got this reply:
"I cant repair them, all I can do is replace the unit. You would
have to send it back to me first. Or contact the manufacture and
have it repaired under warranty."
And finally got my credit for the radio difference in price.
The alarm bells were ringing so I emailed Bennetts direct over the weekend, sending pictures and explaining the situation.
Got home Monday from work and had a reply from the Bennett Marine International Operations Manager saying that they had arranged for the Australian distributer to replace the faulty part for me, who just happens to be near my work. So I went there today and got the new part, along with some friendly advise on fitting the kit.
Sorted in 24hours instead of being frigged around and ignored for 1 1/2 weeks!
Time for a different inporter, might give fishon a go next time ;)
Great service, thanks Bennett Marine and Harold Marine Wholesale!
