I had my first land based fishing session since my arrival to tewantin. Late yesterday afternoon I headed down to the Woods with a bag of prawns. Within the first few minutes I had 1 massive bust off, my first ever est cod (undersize sadly) and my first ever Moses Pearch (also undersize). The rest of the time i was getting some pretty big hits but could not land anything. But i was still glad to have caught something, as its been a while!
Later that evening i went prawning with the father-in-law but I think the tides were to high and it was very windy, so the cast net was proving to be a pain the ass. It was good to be out there instead of sitting on the couch, living in Brisbane. Moving up here was the best thing I have done, for me and my family.
Thanks
Dan

Danbar,
I can only dream about a sea change but often think about living somewhere like that...
Sounds like you had a fun day out... hopefully you'll be bringing the family a feed on your next trip out!

hi danbar
been up here for 18 months now and loving it. being a land based fisherman you will find that if you put the effort in, you will find some great spots up here(and mush easier accessed than the woods, but you cant beat the diversity up there...expect anythin to swim past). i was a bit lazy in my first 12 but in the last 6 things are coming good.
i hit the woods on saturday arvo, managed to get half hour in before the MASSIVE downpour and went home with a nice 60cm flatty(my cut off point for flathead) which worked wonders on the taste buds....and of course got the adrenaline pumpin on the tierra 2500 and 2-4kg daiwa procaster with 4lb braid and 10lb FC leader.
if your keen for a fish sometime mate. pm me...i'm always lookin for someone keen to put the time in.
