I always just cook a really hot curry the day before I've decided to go fishing.
By about 5am the following morning she usually boots me out of bed and says go outside and shake yourself, so I say fine, I'll go fishing and you can air the house out

the coversation usually went like this (Usually cos, now I've got no missus):
Me: Seeya, I'm going fishing....
Missus: Why? How come you didn't say anything earlier?
Me: I'm going because I want to, if you're coming, get ready now, I leave in 5 minutes
end of discussion and I go fishing

i usally have a look at our calendar n if nothing is on then say i'd like to go fishing, she either says she wants to do something or asks where i'm going and with who, half the time she decides to come with me.
as i'm going to be spending 3 months at home after having a shoulder reconstrcution, i wont be able to go unless someone comes with me to help put the boat in and take it out as well as pulling in the ancher, as i'm not allowed to lift more then 5kg with my arm.
but she has told me that she will drive us to the boat ramp (cant drive yet) then drive the boat for me so that i can get out.
love me wife.

Lets get a few things straight...
I wear pants, I have a lot of them some have longer legs than other called Jeans or slacks.
quick to assume that I am a male ????
my wife (female ) and I(male) have been married for 8 years and she comes fishing with me reguarly and she makes up all sorts of eccusses to go ....
just like to know if I can say I've heard it all

Man vs Woman
Women = $
excuse=I have to run the boat motor at least once a week or it will seize up and a replacement will cost $8000.:)
Womans logic =$8000 equates to 80 pairs of shoes or a large number of shopping sprees. If he dosnt use that motor things look grim for me.:-/
This logic can be manipulated using a number of different criteria but the end result is always the same.
Key point is women=$

Fishing is part of the package deal, it's who I am. Never really thought I need an excuse to go, but the danger is when double standards come into play. If the wife wants to go away for a day and be pampered with spas, massages and facials with a bunch of her girlfriends, I would be stupid not to say anything but go for it!! Enjoy yourself!!!

I don't have to ask permission, but before I go fishing I make sure everything is done. I'm not about to go enjoy myself knowing that the sink is full of dirty dishes or the bathrooms are messy. Friday night I'm usually buzzing around the house doing my share of the housework ( we both work so it's a team effort )
I do my best to keep her happy. A little give and take can go a long way.
Works really well for me because when my young bloke and I are walking out the door the Mother in law usually appears in a puff of evil green smoke and visits for a few hours.
And I'm sure my wife would rather our son out at Lake Samsonvale learning about the natural world instead of eating fruit loops and watching SpongeBob Squarepants.

my wife and I are going out fishing together 90% of the time. sometimes she catches all the fish, sometimes I do, sometimes nothing. Ever since she became mad on fishing she has been learning rigging up, knots, targeting species, baiting pillies on gangs, etc. I used to do all that for her but it's getting better everytime.
The day before we got married on the beach at Brooms Head (NSW) we were buying bait at the general store and the storekeeper said: "people who fish together stay together."
We've been living up to that motto ever since. :D
when going out by myself I never need an excuse, but it works out well when she's watching a chick flic.... :D

The most used phrase used in our house is "we'll do it when we get home";)
Saying and doing are two very different things.::)

Yes I'm very well trained....I also cook really well......I have to, if it's not to an acceptable standard, the beatings can be terrible.
