im trying to link the Furuno 585 to the Garmin 4212 GPS, i would like to use the "mark" function on the 585, i am having a bit of trouble trying to understand on how to wire it up:-[, the more im reading the more confused im getting:-/
please help

Hi there Daz,
unfortunately i think you will find that the mark feature on the 585 and 620 dose not run through NMEA! It actually runs through TLL which is target longitude and lattitude and i think you will find that the furuno plotters are the only ones that run that sentence. I hope that give you some help. has anyone told you that you can use that feature through nmea?? cause i am sure you cant! good luck!

I do not know whether this helps or not or even if it is relevant but the 4212 is the US version with the US basemaps, the 4012 is the AU equivalent I think.

thanks all, reading reading and more reading::) go to a page in the book and then tells me to see notes on another page, go to that page and tell me to see notes on another page, all muttled up now:o:-/, but i think im getting there:-X, damn this harder than i thought
