i have recently placed a steez 2500a on layby, hoping to gain some insight into the pros and cons of said reel!I do alot of bass impoundment fishing and couldnt get over how light this reel is,also considered the certate hyper custom 2500 but couldnt put the steez down! i am a newbie to the site and any advice would be appreciated.

Steez is more a finesse reel and the hyper has more grunt. For bass fishing you have made the right choice. Both reels are very nice.
Which rod are you matching it with?
By the way, the australian model of the steez is made for salt water where as the O/S models aren't

is going on an egrell s-2,already have a okuma epix on it but really wanted to try a top end reel.
Alphas ..... Mate you're buying a cracker of a reel! ..... Very much a finesse light weight ( that packs a punch .... with 7kgs of drag)
I really cant see why you would be unhappy with your choice ..... specially for Bassin - - - - - - Hell , buy another spool & load it with 100M 30lb braid & nail some barra:P ...... If anything is it overkill for bass:-/
Certate Hyper custom is another great (awesome) reel ... but its 30% heavier ....... I would choose it ... If I wanted a double handed SW soft plastic outfit for Snapper , kings etc.
Cheers & enjoy that Steez

S2 is a beautiful rod. I own one with a 2500 hyper. Very nice combo indeed. I fish pretty much salt water only. I also have an s10 with 3000 hyper. These things have nuts.
My s2 has a longer but on it than normal but with the light steez I would go with the shorter but.
One thing is for sure... you're fishing all class now!
Next question: Which line?
Another nice rod is the steez stormshadow. It is a bass rod but I use mine in the bay. I think the s2 would outcast it though

brother had an epix.. way too heavy.. steez will do just fine for you..
i havent tried an egrell before but my steez is on a megabass rod and that does pretty well so your rod is perfect for the baby..;D
