howdy fello ausfishers. as most of use made the most of the great weather this weekend i was the same. ventured out yesterday afternoon for a night fish just north of harries to try for some early season snapper. arrived to the spot to a good show of bait on the sounder and was quite surprised to find the bait school was decnt whiting. we ended up with 35 averaging 30cms. as dark set in we decided to put a few on live and scored two nice squire, biggest went 50cms. also scored what looks like a juvenile amberjack but correct me if im wrong. have never seen these in the bay so im guessin not common.
cheers steve

Looks like a little ambo, those little amber jacks have been popping up recently around the place in the bay. I have caught them jigging for bait around the beacons and at the Nielson. Once got a full string of them at the Nielson.

Looks like the Squire a back in the Bay. I pulled a few to 47cm from the outside of Harry's boat park yesterday afternoon. What sort of depth were the Whiting in?
Cheers

Nice work Steve. A great feed.
That is a juvenile amberjack. My son caught one near Green Island last year.
