G'day Fellas,
I launched at Scarborough ramp this morning next to the coastguard and I noticed large blue signs painted on the top of the ramps saying
"You are now entering
Moreton Bay Marine Park
Rules and conditions apply"
or something to that effect so I guess that it will not be long before fines will be issued for fishing scarby reef and areas within that new park.
It has been two months since i have used that ramp so it may have been there a while now but it did look very fresh.
I'm really not looking forward to losing that area to a bad decision for location of this marine park. Today there would have been probably near on 200 boats in that area during the morning, most of them who fish that area in small boats only suited to calm day close to shore fishing. I think the pressure this marine park will have on the rest of the Peninsula will soon fish it bare.
