I've spent today loading all my old marks into my new combo.

I have to say, I'm absolutely gobsmacked at the speed of it, and the ease of use, compared to my old 6500. The zoom and cursor simply fly and I love how the detail and nav box moves over to the other side of the page when the cursor touches it, so as not to obstruct the view.

I have also noticed a few comments on the electronics page bemoaning the lack of detail on c maps. I don't know whether that relates to older maps but the c map that I've got is heaps better than the last one I had, and I really can't see how it can be improved on..........what exactly have other maps to offer over c maps? Not that it makes a difference as I'm committed now............I'm just wondering what I'm supposedly missing?

i got a 7000 in the big boat too. im pretty stoked with it, but my c-map must be a little older than yours. its got no where near the detail my old navionics map i had, had.

No mate..............6 to 8 wks delivery. The 7000 is on the dining table wired up to a battery ................the deckie is doing her crust. ;D I think she was talking to your missus about going into hospital?...........things have worked out pretty much ok, although she'll be off for about 6 weeks...........the lump was benign.

Glad you're having fun with the tinny........christened the prop already eh? ;D

Just found a 5.8m cabin cruiser wreck off spitfire beach...........I don't think a marine map could get much more detailed than that...............or could it?
