Hey people I went out to fish south tree's area today landbased. With things being fairly quiet for about 6 to 7 days at the boyne rivermouth i thought i'd try going a bit further up to south trees today on the off chance it might be better up there and i was pleasantly surprised. Things started off kinda slow when i first tried this spot i call the cove with 1 undersized bream and a few estuary cod on berkley pumpkinseed. Thinking the falling tide might have been the problem i walked up to a spot near the crematorium where theres usually bulk queenies. I threw around berkleys for a bit longer and tried a few poppers to no avail so i pulled out my fave soft plastic lately, the 80mm squidgie slick rig in the rainbow colours, and first cast was heading for the tree's so i quickly yanked back and it bounced off the bank and landed 2 feet out in the water and was grabbed on the drop by the jack you see in the shot below.
The jack is my PB and measured 47 cm i got it on my little TD tierra 153h baitcaster with 10lb fins braid and my usual 20 pound leader and it was awesome fun to fight and land, these things fight so hard.
