For various "domestic reasons", I've just come back from a trip to Ikea.
While shmbo was fondling cuddly toys and fawning over kitchen items and soft furnishings I started to see items of potential fishing parafenalia all over the place.
first thing to catch my eye was a large jar of small tubular plastic beads for $8.......there were thousands of the little things in there in lots of bright colours.....on the sign it said, " promotes fine motor skills and dexterity" yep sure would if you droped that lot on the floor.
But it looked like you could use plenty of them as coloured beads for attracting whiting & such and with a bit of imaginiation some colourfull lurish things.
moving onto the soft toys department there were some small plush stuffed fish toys.......Hmmm... I wonder how they would go with a gang of hooks thru them and dipped in tuna oil::) .
there were some collapsable spring supported storage cylinders that I recon would make great keeper nets.
I saw a number of cutlery storage or colander type things in stanless that would make fantastic burley buckets.
I saw a plastic shopping bag storage & despensing thing that with a bit of work would either make a nice bait trap or a small crab pot.
then the seating department, there was one of those tractor seat stools, but this one was almost all plastic...... I recon that would go well as a stool on a bass boat.
even their big yellow shopping bag would be great for hauling the catch home when you dont feel like draging an esky.
So next time the MRS drags you shopping it just a case of attitude.;D
cheers
