Ventured to the north eastern side of Maclaey at the crack of dawn....noticed about 7 boats to the north of Maclaey (too many people for my liking to fish around)....anchored up near the pier about 25m away....

Used squid, pilchard and pippies - ended up with 40cm squire, 82cm flatty (thrown back), 85cm cat fish (thrown back), a few sharks (thrown back) and a lot of small squire (thrown back)......quite an entertaining session.....good to get out and fish while the wind was down.....

Went to Coochie after that (north east side) - no luck except for the bloody shovels.....

I'd predict that many will venture out there over the weekend for a fish....

The missus caught the flatty and didn't want to keep it out of the water any longer than she wanted it to be...so it was virtually get the hook out and release.....

Hi Reddybayfisher,

I was one of those other boats, at Macleay this morning (4.10m Allycraft/Yamaha 4 stroke), and we had a simmilar story with the squire, and lost a few of the bigger specimens too.

All in all all a good morning, good to get out before the easter onslaught sets in.

Cheers
Scott
