I see there is an auction next weekend in Bris and there are a couple of traicrafts i would be interested in. What sort of saving would consider reasonable off the rrp and will they still be covered with waranty as they are new boats?
Cheers Ryan

Hi ryan you can make big savings but there is an ugly side to you can't sea trail you can't get the motor inspected and you get no warranty i purchsed a car under the hammer and it ended in tears and cost me more than going to a dealer and getting a warranty. So i would be careful they are there for a reason. Regards mark

I thought Trailcraft would have covered the warranty since they are new boats.

Watch out for the extra dollars on top of the hammer fall price.
I think you should get a good deal and not a price close to dealer price.

Best thing to do Ryan, is get a couple of quotes from dealers & compare !! ;)

Ryan,
The less people that talk about the auction, the less that end up going and the better chance you have of getting a cheap price. There was heaps of talk about the Sundown Marine auction and there were stories of people paying more the retail! It seems everyone is on the look out for a bargain boat these days.
I saw the ad for this auction in the paper and noticed a particular boat I would be keen on as well. So it is hush from me. Auction, what auction???
Good Luck with the boat.

OK, best advice, do your homework long before you even go looking at Auctions, as mentioned there can be some good buys, but usually people get all caught up in the perceived bargain and the prices are way over normal retail, so make sure you know what you are buying, what it's true cost is, is there any "buyers premium" on the item (this is a cost added after the sale) is the item new or a reject, is it a customer return for some reason, all these things need to be firmly in your mind before you set foot in an Auction yard! make a list of anything you may be intersted in before the sale day, NOT at the sale!

That was crazy stuff. Many paid full retail (&above) without warranty, suppliers docs etc - just madness :o
