What are the suggestions for a egg beater that can be used as an all rounder in the 4000- 5000 reels size..

As I only usually use large spinning reels for large baits for shark, snapper and mulloway.

Ever had that time when your fishing for whiting and the spool goes crazy cause a large snapper has taken the bait and the reel is going to get stretched to the limit..

My thoughts were to run 25 pound braid eg: spiderwire which gives me lots of line and makes the reel more versatile..

Any brand names are welcome but the budget needs to be kept within reason..lets not go to stella and saltiga as I don’t want to sell my care to buy a reel..

I had a Shimano 4000 with 10 pound braid on it and it was the perfect all rounder put with the old uglystick it was just perfect for anything ;D

I use a shimano 4000 sienna with 10 lb platinum. i use it for anything from chasing big threadies in the river, or spinning for big trevs and other stuff to chasing whiting off the beach.

cheers

5000 or 6000 Shimano Stradic will handle most scenarios. Fast ratio for metal chucking and solid drag and comes with two spools which add to versatility. I do like my BTR6500 but a bit heavy for an allrounder.

Yeh ..... I'd go a Shimano baitrunner! ........ specially for fish like Snapper & Jew!
The baitrunner feature is a cracker!
