Hello,

I have recently been practicing tying Bimini Twist and have just about down packed it. http://www.akff.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

This may sound silly, but how do you tie the double to the leader? Traditionally I have just done Albright knots where you loop the thicker leader and do the wraps with the thinner braid. But now having a double in the main line do I just do the opposite and wrap the leader through the Braid double?

Hope this makes sense http://www.akff.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Geoff Wilson's book has a knot that I really like ( Braid leader knot) .... It is a very neat compact knot that hasn't let me down.

I'm imagining your leader is still of thicker diameter than the doubled braid? If so, still do the wraps with the braid. It bites into the fluro/mono and holds well, with a very slender knot. FWIW I've done away with bimini's on my barra gear, tying 40lb PE straight to 80lb leader with an albright. Great in and out of the guides, and less knots to worry about.

I prefer the "slim Beauty" knot. It casts out very nicely. However, it does clunk on the way back in, but the important thing is the cast out
