Being old-fashioned (& a tight-arse) I always use mono. Finally gave in & bought a little Shimano Baitcaster & some braid - whacked it on of of my dad's old cheap crappy little Jarvis Walker rods just for fun & for the past 5 fishing trips have trolled and trolled without any luck.

My mates all use braid & I seem to outfish them...so I reckoned mono was the gun! (maybe I'm just the gun??? ::) )

Had a couple of fish hooked, but they would spit the lure before I got them in.....was thinking I wasnt setting the hooks (being afraid pulling their gobs out with braid)......until.......FINALLY..........here he is.....got another 3 that arvo about the same size......(but on mono;D )
