The BeaR

Hi All…
Due to the weather being 25-30kts over the weekend, the offshore salt water fishing was out of the question, so decided to head up to Monduran.
Arrived at the boat ramp around 5:30am to an almost windless morning. It didn’t last.
Decided to head up to B arm to a little spot that had produced good fish in the past when the dam was 5 odd mitres lower. The dam looks so much different now with this added water, certainly a lot of new ground to explore.
The water clarity is still quite dirty and with the temperature at only 24 deg C in the morning and the best we found all day was only 27 in a small bay that I would think has only recently flooded. The water depth was 15ft at a casting distance from the bank. In B arm the best we did was 4 catfish, which is usually a good indication of better things, but not today.
Decided to come back down the dam towards the dam wall and look for cleaner water to cast in and this is where we found the little bay with the warmer temperature. It is also the bay we managed our only fish for the day, caught casting a 120mm gold B52 and using The BeaR B6-6 Baitcasting rod. All in all it was just good to get on the water and I guess the dirty water means I will just have to keep going back to make sure it clears.
