where did u buy it from?
If 2nd hand, and came from an area more than a few 100km's away, you may have to tell it to do a fresh satelite search.

it will be done via the keypad. Did you get a book with it? I just had a look at the garmin site and they dont have a manual for it, even in discontinued section.
For my Garmin Etrex Legend, when it's in satelite search mode I just press menu, and select new location' then 'auto'
Yours might not have that feature.

have found a website that says put it in open view of sky and leave for a few hours to re align satellites ??
something to do with the 2000 rollover and time /date set in gps
its on the back veranda, switched on and looking to the stars ;D

1. Not worth all that much at all, bit of an antique, 8 channel MultiTrac and it is a bonus it still works.
