Tried my luck yesterday as well as this morning from 5:15 - 7:15. No hits at all yesterday. One big hit this morning that launched my rod into the air and as I grabbed it.......PING!

2 secinds later the other line goes off and I set the hook. Tail-walking and a few runs later and I land a 75cm TARPON. Great fighter. back he goes. Nothing more. Water very dirty and probably can blame the fresh rains for that. I reckon another 2 weeks at least without rain before the walls clean up a bit.

Happy trying to catch in shitty conditions.

Well done kev. Those tarpon fight well don't they? I caught one on my 6lb stick off the rockpool ages ago, it went 50cm and gave me the best fight ever!!

Boats finally done, so now I can get into some serious fishing again (YAY!) Dad and my brother, headed out yesterday for a very tasty bag of trout (4), sweetlip (3) and grunter (2 @ 70cm!), pretty rough conditions though.
