Had another go for prawns in the Pine this morning starting about 6.00 am. Same old story - quite a few greasies but few bananas. Got about a hundred prawns and a few herring and went looking for some fish on the turn of the tide at the bottom and the first half of the rise. Managed a dozen keeper bream of reasonable quality, a nice lizard and a little cod by 11.00 am, plus the usual couple of bust-offs, and large catfish. Nice morning for a change with just a light breeze and no rain.

Pretty good feed for a morning session on the pine mate. Hopefully the bananas will start to turn up in numbers soon

Nice catch again mate!! I was under the bridge last Friday night and got busted off a few times. Landed a few Bream around 28cms and one very fat 35cm one:) Had a cast for prawns also but only managed half a dozen:( morning might be better for them perhaps.
cheers

Not for me. It takes a long time to get a feed of prawns when you're only getting one or two greasies per cast. Still, you might get lucky and find a better patch. I had one throw yesterday that gave me about 20, including a few bananas, but I couldn't find them again no matter how hard I tried.

Mate, I would certainly appreciate a PM with the info if you wouldn't mind. I've only just gotten me little tinny and would love a fruitful maiden voyage
Many thanks

A 2/0 hook once through the second last body segment near the tail. Make sure the hook goes through the middle of the body segment (from the side) - if you go too low you'll damage the nerve cord and kill the prawn. I use the tiniest ball sinker sitting right on the hook to take the bait down, or no sinker at all if the tide is fairly slack

Awesome report mate, you've been on fire the past few weeks. Any chance you could share some tips, been finding it very hard to bring home anything decent from the pine of late.:( Cheers, K

It's all there in my recent reports from the Pine. Nothing much else I can add. Just make sure you've got some good structure to fish, fish across the change of the tide and keep a steady berley stream going
