Hi all, i have been giving pt lonsdale pier (5km from Queenscliff, 25km from Geelong)a go of late with some nifty hook ups. This is the sought of pier where you can catch a wide array of species, being right on the port philip heads. Anything from 1kg to 10kg+ snapper, huge salmon. huge king george whiting, gummy sharks, banjo sharks, port jackson sharks ,parrot fish and the list goes on. A very popular spot for shark fisherman which balloon out lines. The main catch for shark is the seven gill which are normally 8 to 10 feet long. Bronzies and mako's are sometimes hooked as well. A few weeks ago i snared 4 salmon 1 being 5kg and 12 king george whiting mostly around 35cm to 40 cm and 1 being 50cm. All in all this can be a hit and miss spot but when they're on by god they go bezerk. So if your ever down this way be sure to give it a crack. Check out a couple of pics. Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave,

I spent about 9 years in Laverton and really enjoyed my Trout fishing. I also did a lot of Spearfishing around Torquay and Cape Otway but never tried the fishing in that part of Victoria.

Put up a post when you get some of the Big Sharks.

That looks like a good feed off the jetty.
