Decided a fishing trip was needed no matter how strong the wind was blowing, so launched at Deep Water Bend and ran up the Pine looking for some prawns. Had to work hard to get about 50 live prawns, about two thirds greasies and one third bananas. Plenty of herring and poddy mullet available so I kept a few of those as well. Put one poddy out and a couple of prawns and worked the change of the tide at the bottom. Managed 8 reasonable bream on the prawns (plus a few undersized released). Lost a couple of live baits to express trains - think one was a ray by the feel, but wouldn't be surprised if the other was a cod. Also cut off one large catfish that took a livie, and boated a small tailor that took a herring. Nice enough morning on the water and the wind wasn't too much of a problem in the river

No Silent- it was very quiet all morning. Only saw one other cast-netter and a couple of other boats. Even the river trawlers went home soon after dawn.

Well done mate ,a very nice haul. Even when that wind is blowing there is some where to tuck in and land a good bag. Cheers

Looks like I will have to wet the boat from underneath and not the top like it has been the past few weeks.
