Gents.

I bought some of the above line after it got great reviews. I'm running 10lb and am finding tying it to any leader is almost impossible.

I've used vanish and one of the sunline flourocarbons as well. I'm using the improved albrights knot and also tried the 5 turn surgeons but find I can snap the braid in the knot in my bare hands.

I need help otherwise it's going in the bin and the fireline is going back on.

Have you tried the double uni? I run 4 different types of braid in various sizes, from 4lb through to 30lb and have found this to be the easiest and most reliable of all the others I have tried. Though I don't use sunline, it works for fireline (4, 6 20lb), platypus superbraid(30lb), Finns PRT(14, 20lb), and rapala titanium (14lb). All work ell with vanish (4, 10, 20lb) and Penn 10X (20, 40, 60 80lb), the only 2 brands of leaders I use.

Hi Brett, how many turns in your albright? With 4lb Firleline I'm doing about 18-20 turns (9-10 each way) which seems to be sufficient. I used to tie a Surgeons but found it was easily broken around the knot area with lighter leaders and since running an Albright I haven't had any issues around the knot area; 4lb fireline & 8lb Leader breaks at my hook knot ... just what I want it to do when I am snagged up.

use the allbright but double up the braid. I had the same issue using Castaway, the braid would cut into the leader.

yea i have 8lb sunline and it sometimes snaps when i cast it so i put the fireline back on its much better.

i love the stuff.

i have 6lb and i tie a 80 turn bimini to an improved albright and cant fault it.

fir teh albright i do 10 turns up and then 4 around the braid and ONE side of the loop of leader if that makes sense

I've been using the Slim beauty for everything ever since starting to use it for heavy barra rigs. I use it for 2lb crystal to 6lb Fluro with excellent results. when snagged it will usually break the loop knot at the jighead before anywhere else.

Sunline 10lb will break at or under 10lb so you should be able to snap it in your hands. If you are comparing it to 10lb fireline which breaks at over 20lb its not apples with apples. I was using 6lb fireline and went to 16lb Sunline castaway which are similar in diameter, but the sunline is much softer and casts much better.

Dont go back to fireline unless its the 2lb

By the way, when I tie an albright I do 8-10 wraps up then come straight back down to the loop. I find wrapping back over the other wraps sometimes causes the wraps underneath to stay a little looser and after a few casts the knot just falls apart. Ive never had a failure since

Cheers

Thanks lads.

I'm a bit one handed at the moment courtesy of a knife accident so can't practise knots at the moment.

I think with the albright the braid pinching on the braid is causing the snapping. I think the pressure I'm putting on the knot is not 4 kg but I'll messure it when the hand is good.

I'm up for other knots though.
