Just spent 4 days at Borumba Dam taking part in a private fishing comp set up by the son in law in memory of a young friend of his taken by cancer. Great weekend attended by about 20 young men and a couple not so young including the father and uncle of his deceased mate. Without going into details it would have to have been one of the best fishing trips I have ever been on (except for the circumstances). On the fishing front Friday was the best day for our boat with 22 bass being caught (majority released) while on Saturday(lots of traffic) we boated 2 yellowbelly and 9 bass. Most of the guys hadn't fished the fresh before so we all took out some novices and made sure they enjoyed themselves. All newbodies caught at least one fish. All participants were great and well behaved so it was a bit annoying for the caretaker to come down at about 9.45pm and tell everyone basically not to talk too loud. I understand that the current owners are new to the camping game but it did rub us up the wrong way as it was the one of the quietest camps I have been in. I thing they have lost a few future customers. Apart from that as I said a great weekend. I will try and post photos when my son makes some room on the computer.

Hay Dagwood ,
Sounds like you all had a great weekend . Sounds like some good memories for all . myself and a good mate were up there on saturday having a social fish sharing a very beautiful lake with you and your friends,we caught twelve good bass to 45cm and two very nice togas to 63cm so we found some good memories as well . In the past we have found the dear park a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay.
Cheers David

Warrior and BasS Bandit unfortunately we did stay at the deer park as we have always done in the past. I don't know what has happened there but that was the first time we had encountered that attitude especially on two nights. I could understand it if the boys were misbehaving or very loud but I can assure you they weren't. To their credit they accepted it but will be reluctant to camp there in the future which is a pity as it is a great camping site.
Herby13... Mate those Togas are still eluding me but I will have the last laugh one day.
Regards Darryl
P.S. Still waiting for my son to make room on the computer so I can post some photos. Biggest Bass 42cm...biggest yellowbelly 45.5 cm
