Apart from pressing the X button, you can't. It's an unfortunate reality of ausfish as a business, and the new ways advertisers find to impose their message upon us.

Gday Daz,

In the middle of the google toolbar is an icon which says popups ok click on this and it will change, on mine it now says 2 blocked. This has stopped them from coming up on mine. A godsent.

It is a part of what keeps the site free for you to use. So it is appreciated by all members if you do not block it.

I know some ads can be annoying at times, but I am sure you would agree that it is a small thing to ask considering it lets you use the site for free.

Thanks Daz, I take it that you do not wish to use the site for free or help keep it free for all the other members to use.

I will work on setting up a subscription site for you to use.

Steve, i said thanks to Lippa for the tip on getting Google bar up, the damn pop up is still there

but if you get rid of even 60% of these adds i would be more than happy to slip a green or yellow note per year

i've used the google tool bar pop up blocker for a couple of years, it has never stopped the the adds that appear on this site. i simply click on the "x" when they appear and there gone.
the google toolbar has so many handy features other than the pop up blocker.
i'm sure there are heaps of other brands of pop up blockers people use that stop them any way.
i love the autofill features it has, when filling forms or subcriptions, its one click, and done! cant beat that.
