Took advantage of a break in the weather and hit Viccy Point boatramp with KH15 around 7.00am yesterday morning. As expected the carpark was near empty but the bay was calm and the skies were cloudy.
Straight to the eastern side of Macleay for a few drifts with soft plastics for no luck. Only picked up a baby squire on the bait jig!
Decided to try to troll up a flathead or two in the shallows between Macleay and Garden Islands. Almost immediately picked up a 62cm model on a Ridgeback Scud in blue/pink/silver colouring in 2.4m of water. Sorry - no pics as we left the camera at home!
Then the heavens opened. We persisted for a while then gave up and headed home. Not much to crow about but good to get on the water for the first time in a fortnight! My new wet weather gear performed admirably!!;)
