hi it is a bit of a late report but i am bored so i thought i would post something so here i go. stayed down at a mates place at currumbin last friday night to get up early and leave straight away. well got up at 4:30a.m. and was already to go with the hardbodies tied up the night before. left about 10 to five and straight on the bike to our first spot with is about a 3 kilometre ride (No time for breakfast). we got there and straight away we saw prawns and mullet getting smashed up by some big bream. while my mate dylan was teaching me how to hook a fish on my towadi there was a splash so boom threw the towadi straight there began talking again and 1 twitch bang water sprayed everywhere a big jack smashed my towadi and i struck and my mate said did you listen to what i said;D . so back out with a nother cast, dylan through my Rebel pop-R down the side of the wall and bang another big hit from a jack. a few more hitd but nothing stuck we went to the other side and bang i was on and up came a small bream going about 21cm (fl) nothing else happend but a few more strikes. Dylan said lets get some breaky and then off to the next stop.
after a meat pie and a 5 kilometer ride we were at hiss favourite spot:-X . the water was clear as so we had to change to 2lb fluoro leader. as soon as i tied up a 2" powerbait he said nope take that off your leader is not long enough...>:( (1.5m is not long enough) so i did as the local said and tied on a longer piece of leader and he said forget about the powerbait go the gulp! shrimp in natural. first cast out deep i jigged it pretty hard and straight away dylan said you can't jig it that hard>:( ok ok do as the local say's but as soon as he finished talking i was about to jig when bang zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ym little revros screemed with 2lb braid on it it ran hard and straight for 2 seconds and within that time took about 20 meters of line and clink the hook got spat due to a too looser drag (about 500g)>:(>:(>:( we both estimated it to be a big trevally about 60cm. we flicked the plastics for a while to end up with me getting another small bream and dylan with a small bream we decided at about 10:30 to call it quits. we worked 5 hours for 3 measily bream. a hard day but good to get out and have a fish.
