well fellow ausfishers its been about 2 months since there has been a window for fishing and with a failed 1770 trip was pretty keen to get a feed. headed out this morning about 4am with the old man and a mate and was greeted with light winds, so the choice was made to fish a few reefs just north of harries. the fish were biting all mornin with a few big unstoppables and a few sharked, but we still managed 6 nice squire and a couple of whiting. smallest was 37 and biggest going 45cm. i hope a few more benefited from this nice weather. steve

nice feed mate, I fished Peel. Started to head towards Harrys and look for some surface action but gave it a miss, there was a stack of boats and the wind was getting up

I hit Peel from 5:30am. SW Rocks was very active and some great hits, then as the boats rolled in I moved out to the Myora light, then back to Lazarets and back at the ramp around 11:30am. Nothing to show for it but several large runs and a few bust-offs.

Did you get caught at the ramp Cap't? Took me ages to get in due to people jumping in front and consideration a little lacking. Then my boat kept getting pushed by the current and had 3 goes to get it on the trailer. The best thing, I was on the water - 2nd time in 5 months!!!

Nah Chris, I pulled the boat out at about 8am.
I managed a few fish before the light horse brigade marched in, gave up about 6 and chased some birds near Naval Reserve. Got a nice Snap for dinner though

Well done there Steve, I've been holding off fishing for bay snapps till Feb. Looks like it;s always time in our bay. Peter.

hi guys - I hit Peel at 4am yesterday and only managed a good Bream and a Perch for the dinner table. which ramp did you guys return? I came back through Raby Bay and it was pretty busy but not too much of a wait.

cheers to the bloke who ran over and helped me guide the boat on and hooked my winch up for me when retrieving (i was on my own). we hear a lot about inconsiderate people but not enough about good blokes helping others at the ramp.

big_steve,

nice catch - good to see a couple of reports of squire coming in - it has been pretty quiet on that front recently. Even better that they were on for the whole trip - well done sounds like a great trip - who said you can't catch fish in the bay nowadays.

mik01 - well done for giving the guy who helped you a wrap - I agree that you always here plenty of people whinging about others at the boat ramps - I know I have done it too but there are also plenty of people happy and willing to help - even if sometimes it isn't appreciated.

Cheers and heres to some more good weather

Your catch is better than mine for the day only catchen small dart on the mouth of the pin with the family. Might chase the reds soon to but sick of this dirty water slowing down my hits on the plastics.Well done.
